The Mindy Project is a television series that follows obstetrician/gynecologist Mindy Lahiri (Kaling) as she struggles to balance both her personal and professional life, accompanied by her group of quirky co-workers from Schulman and Associates. The show starts off with Mindy as she attends her ex-boyfriend’s wedding, and after getting drunk at the dinner and creating a scene, Mindy vows to move on from her past, get her life back on track, and find the perfect man. And of course, with the help of her besties and colleagues.

I personally am a fan of the show after devouring the whole season in three days. It’s quirky, it’s smart, it’s funny, it’s sweet. Yes, a total chick flick, and the audience is reminded of this as Mindy’s love for rom-com starts off a few of the episodes in the series. But putting that aside, I really enjoy the chemistry between the characters, from Mindy with Morgan, to Jeremy with Betsy, to Brendan with Mindy, and of course Mindy with Danny Castellano. I love the quirks and personality of the main characters created for this show and how easy it is to fall in love with them, regardless of their flaws.  Also, how could I leave out the guest stars! I don’t know how, but the guest appearances for this show has been amazing, from Seth Rogen to Seth Meyers to Bill Hader, and Mark Duplass. All of whom played Mindy’s love interest.  Also, a plus point for the costume designer for the show, it’s been quirky, elegant, and simply defines the characters.

All in all, there are a few great episodes from the show, notably, the Pilot, Thanksgiving, Josh and Mindy’s Christmas Party, The One that Got Away, and Take Me with You. I’m glad that the show is being renewed for a second season, and I can’t wait to see what the writers will come up with to keep the audience going with the show. Will it be set in Haiti for a few episodes? Who knows?
