Crush is a thriller that follows a group of high school students, whereby the protagonist, Scott (Till) a soccer player for his high school is enjoying his time being the top player in school, until he accidentally injured his knee. Meanwhile, Bess (Reed), a misfit from school has a tremendous crush on Scott, but Scott is too oblivious to notice since he is distracted by his close friend, Jules (Bolger). But… how far will a secret admirer dare to go in order to make her crush notice?
To me the film was much more than I expected it to be. It sounded and started off like your usual young adult stalker flick, but as the suspense carry on, I was a little surprise by it. I think Reed did a fairly good portrayal of an insane secret admirer. There were moments where I did feel a little bored with the pace and the storyline, but the ending caught my attention. The soundtrack was pretty decent. The directing was bearable.
Overall, it’s a pretty good suspense film, suitable for young adults, and adults alike. I can’t say much about the plot, or else I would have spoiled it. So, if you’re interested in stalker syndromes, or just a decent B+ thriller, you could definitely give this a try.
